Austin FC has signed midfielder Jorge Alastuey to a Major League Soccer first-team contract, the club announced, promoting the Spaniard from Austin FC II on a deal guaranteed through the end of the 2026 season with options for the 2027 sprint season and the 2027–28 full season.
Alastuey is the fourth current Verde player to earn a first-team deal after starting with Austin FC II, following Micah Burton, Ervin Torres, and Riley Thomas.
“I’m very happy to sign a contract with the first team and I want to thank the Club, and all my coaches and teammates, for their support and belief in me,” Alastuey said. “I got a first taste of what MLS is like in making my debut earlier this season, and I’m hungry to keep improving and to help the team achieve its goals this season.”
The Zaragoza native joined Austin FC II in January 2025 and has 19 goals and eight assists in 39 MLS NEXT Pro appearances. He led ATXFC II in goal contributions last season with 16 (10 goals, six assists) and again this season with 11 (nine goals, two assists) while the second team sits atop the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference.
Alastuey made his MLS debut on a Short-Term Agreement on March 14, 2026, playing 31 minutes off the bench against Real Salt Lake, then earned his first career MLS start against the San Jose Earthquakes on April 22.
“Jorge has consistently displayed a high level of performance with Austin FC II and has impressed when given the opportunity to train and play at the first team level,” interim head coach Davy Arnaud said. “We congratulate him on earning a first team contract.”
Alastuey came through Real Zaragoza’s academy before moving to FC Barcelona’s La Masia in 2016, representing Barça at U-16, U-18, and U-19 levels and later Napoli’s U-19s. Senior stops included CD Teruel in Spain and ŁKS Łódź in Poland.
He will carry Supplemental and International roster designations and remains eligible to appear for Austin FC II on loan. Pronunciation: hor-hey ah-lah-stew-ey.
