Formula 1 names Damson Idris Global Brand Ambassador

Formula 1 has named actor Damson Idris a Global Brand Ambassador, formalizing a partnership that followed the launch of the sport’s “All To Drive For” campaign ahead of the 2026 season.

Idris co-starred with Brad Pitt in F1 The Movie, which F1 said grossed more than $630 million and became the most successful sports movie of all time. Filmed at live Grands Prix with the championship’s collaboration, the project put Idris inside the paddock as rising driver Joshua Pearce.

“I’m delighted to welcome Damson Idris officially to the Formula 1 family,” President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said. “Following his starring role in F1 The Movie, which made history at the box office and helped bring our sport to new audiences, he is joining us as an official Global Brand Ambassador.”

Idris will attend several Grands Prix and support content, partner, and promotional work aimed at new fans — a cultural crossover Austin’s Circuit of The Americas crowd already felt as Hollywood and F1 shared the same stage in 2025–26.

“I’ve always been drawn to spaces where culture, performance, and precision meet, and Formula 1 sits right at the centre of that,” Idris said. “I’m genuinely excited to step into this role as a Global Ambassador.”
