MIAMI – Aaron Nola will start Monday night’s World Baseball Classic semifinal game for Italy against Venezuela in place of Michael Lorenzen.

Italy manager Francesco Cervelli made the change just hours before his team arrived at LoanDepot Park.

Nola, a 32-year-old right-hander, earned the win in the final group stage game against Mexico on March 11. He allowed four hits over five scoreless innings with five strikeouts and one walk, throwing 69 pitches.

Keder Montero, a 25-year-old right-hander, will start for Venezuela.

The winner of the match will play the United States in the final on Tuesday night.
