Austin FC hosts San Diego FC on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. CT at Q2 Stadium. The club’s match preview calls it the return home after back-to-back road games, with the stream in English and Spanish on Apple TV.
On the radio, Austin FC lists the English call on iHeartRadio’s ALT 97.5 and the Spanish call on Univision’s TUDN Radio Austin, 104.3-HD2 (KLQB-FM).
The point from Frisco
The preview follows a 0-0 draw at FC Dallas last Saturday night at Toyota Stadium. Austin FC Communications said Brad Stuver stopped Kaick from close range in the 11th minute, Jon Gallagher’s right-footed shot was saved in the second half, and Stuver made two more saves in stoppage time. The club said the result extended an unbeaten run to seven matches. The listed conditions were clear and 90 degrees. Allen Chapman was the referee. The later preview adds that Stuver’s night in Frisco was a Team of the Matchday performance, and that Austin is trying to stretch that seven-match unbeaten run at home.
Where the table sits
Austin FC’s own preview says San Diego is one point ahead in the Western Conference, that the playoff line is two points above Austin, and that four points separate eighth place from 14th. A Western Conference table published by Goal.com this week listed Austin at 30 points from 26 matches, with a 7-9-10 record and a minus-12 goal difference, and San Diego one place and one point ahead on 31. Place order has differed slightly across public tables this week, so the figure used here is the one the club stated: San Diego by a point, with the playoff line two points above Austin.
What the club said about San Diego
The preview says San Diego’s only previous visit to Q2 Stadium, in March 2025, ended in an Austin win, with goals from Brandon Vazquez and Jon Gallagher.
San Diego comes in off a 2-2 draw with Inter Miami at Nu Stadium. The club preview says Anders Dreyer scored twice in that match and that the draw stopped a three-match losing streak. Goalkeeper CJ dos Santos made six saves and was also a Team of the Matchday selection. The same note says he will miss Saturday because of international duty with Cape Verde.
On the attack, the preview lists Marcus Ingvartsen with 11 goals and five assists, and Dreyer with 11 goals and 11 assists. It also says San Diego has the league’s highest average possession, at 59.8 percent.
The club release frames Saturday as a home point Austin needs in the last stretch of the regular season. This preview uses that release and the Frisco recap. It does not add a lineup, a predicted score, or a quote that the club did not publish.
