Terence Crawford has revealed his all-time favourite dustups, naming three winners of the Ring Magazine’s prestigious Fight of the Year award.
The former three-division undisputed champion was never involved in such a back-and-forth battle himself, but nonetheless ended his career as The Ring’s Fighter of the Year in 2025.
This acknowledgement came a few months after his legacy-defining victory over Canelo Alvarez, which saw him collect all four major belts at 168lbs last September.
Elsewhere in his career, Crawford scored dominant wins over several other world-class operators, including Errol Spence Jr, who he stopped round nine to become the undisputed welterweight king in 2023.
While known mostly for his elite ring IQ and crafty footwork, ‘Bud’ equally showed a degree of spite that would often see him take care of business in emphatic fashion.
In that sense, it is hardly surprising that Crawford has named three all-action affairs – two of them ending inside the distance – as his favourite fights of all time.
The first of which is Thomas Hearns vs Marvin Hagler, a three-round middleweight shootout in 1985 that would certainly top the list of many other boxing aficionados.
With that, Crawford also named the iconic first encounter between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo, back in 2005, as one of his personal favourites, before completing his top three with the addition of Erik Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera, which took place in 2000.
Speaking with streamer Adin Ross, the American revealed his selections in no particular order.
“I would have to say Tommy Hearns vs Marvin Hagler; I would have to say Castillo-Corrales 1. And I would have to say Marco Antonio Barrera vs Morales.”
Hagler emerged triumphant from his thrilling contest with Hearns, while Corrales and Morales claimed victories over their respective lightweight and super-bantamweight rivals.
