Women’s ice hockey was first introduced at the Olympic Games in 1998, and they are the only two nations to have won Olympic gold since then. Canada won the gold medal four years ago in Beijing, but the United States swept the rivalry series this winter, defeating Canada 5-0 in the preliminary round.
