Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen will be reevaluated in two weeks after an MRI on Thursday showed symptomatic hip impingement with associated inflammation and bone bruise, sources told ESPN.

Markkanen also twisted his right ankle in practice Wednesday, but those tests returned clean, sources said.

Markkanen’s injury is the latest to hit the Jazz, who in the past two weeks have announced season-ending injuries to forwards Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) and Jusuf Nurkic (nose) and guard Vince Williams Jr. (knee). Utah was also without guard Keyonte George in Thursday night’s 129-118 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans because of a right ankle sprain.

The Jazz fell to 18-41, the third-worst record in the Western Conference.

Markkanen, a nine-year veteran, is averaging a team-best 26.7 points this season with 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
