Nearing the end of pool play, the top of the the 2026 World Baseball Classic odds board looks identical to the way it did when the tournament began: The top three favorites — USA (-115), Dominican Republic (+350) and Japan (+400) — have the exact same odds as they did entering the 2026 WBC.

The next three teams also maintained their respective positions on the board, though Venezuela (+700), Puerto Rico (18-1) and Mexico (20-1) have all seen their odds shorten by +200 each. All of the teams listed have gone undefeated in pool play thus far, and so too has Italy, which saw dramatic improvement from 80-1 to 50-1 since the beginning of the festivities.

The tournament has largely gone according to plan thus far but there have been a few hiccups. Namely, Canada and South Korea have both seen their odds slip to 80-1 after they lost games in the pool stage. Despite going undefeated thus far, Cuba has actually lengthened from 80-1 to 100-1.

On the tournament MVP front, Japan’s Shohei Ohtani (+500) and USA’s Aaron Judge (+800) remain the favorites, but USA’s Bobby Witt Jr. and the Dominican Republic’s Junior Caminero have been flying up the odds board and are tied for third with 14-1 odds. At the beginning of the tournament, BetMGM named Witt and Caminero as two of its largest liabilities for the award.
