Manchester United might thwart Liverpool’s plan to sign Aurelien Tchouameni.
Liverpool emerged as one of Tchouameni’s strongest suitors following his breakthrough at AS Monaco. The Frenchman eventually decided to join Real Madrid.
Tchouameni remains tied to Los Blancos until the summer of 2028. Still, Liverpool have their eyes set on him. However, this time, they face competition from their Northwest rivals.
Manchester United monitoring Aurelien Tchouameni
According to Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness), Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni, who moved to Real Madrid in a €80 million (£69.8m) deal, is enjoying a promising campaign in the Spanish capital, impressing in the middle of the park and often at the heart of the defence.
It is claimed the Premier League duo view the technically gifted and tactically intelligent defensive midfielder as an “ideal piece to reinforce their midfield”.
Accordingly, they are tempting Tchouameni for a summer move to England.
It is added that United and Liverpool are considering important offers.
Needless to say, Real remain reluctant to part ways with one of their most important players.
The France international has a €1bn release clause in his contract, giving the Spanish giants all the negotiating power.
Manchester United prepared to make a move for Khephren Thuram
Meanwhile, United might find it easier to sign Tchouameni’s fellow countryman, Khephren Thuram.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are ready to make a serious move for Thuram. The box-to-box demon has established himself as one of Serie A’s best midfielders.
It is believed that Juventus would struggle to keep hold of Thuram if they miss out on Champions League football.
