A fitness update has been provided on Manchester United star Patrick Dorgu ahead of Monday’s meeting with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Dorgu injured

Dorgu has been sidelined since late last month when he picked up a hamstring injury during the 3-2 Premier League victory over Arsenal.

The former Lecce man fired a screamer for United’s second of the match, but he didn’t finish the game as he limped off in the closing stages.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Dorgu had been ruled out of action for 10 weeks. The setback came at a particularly poor time for the Dane, who was in red-hot form and appeared poised for a big role under Michael Carrick on the left side of the attack.

Dorgu also found the back of the net in the 2-0 win against Manchester City.

The priority for Dorgu is to return to full fitness before the season’s end to stake his claim for a Denmark World Cup spot. Now, an update on his fitness status has been provided.

Centredevils reveal, “Patrick Dorgu is making good progress on his recovery from injury and has been doing strength and conditioning work this week at Carrington.”

“The 21-year-old is working hard with the physios and is on track with his rehabilitation plan.”

Meanwhile, Carrick spoke to reporters on Friday and delivered an update on Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt. Mount has been absent since United beat Fulham 3-2 on February 1, with Carrick later confirming that he had sustained a minor issue in training.

De Ligt has been sidelined with a back injury since November.

There was optimism that one or both players would be back for the Everton match but Carrick informed journalists that it’s unlikely, noting that Mount is slightly ahead of De Ligt in terms of a return.

Everton vs. United kicks off at 8pm.
