On September 30, the Olympic Peninsula lost a legend in Washington’s conservation community; A lifelong activist and advocate for the environment and all things wild, our friend and colleague Bob Lynett, has died of cancer aged 88.
As a Sequim resident, Bob started the Sierra Club’s North Olympic Group and was one of the founders of the Wild Olympics Campaign. He was a humble giant with a brilliant political mind, who was instrumental in helping launch the Wild Olympics. We mourn his loss, and will miss him.
Joel Connelly wrote a beautiful tribute to Bob here, including his work on Wild Olympics Below is Bob’s full obituary from his family in which they highlight some of his many accomplishments during his extraordinary life.
